Mildred E. Maggard was interviewed on October 26, 1990 by Susan Arthur.

The main topics of the interview include the theaters in Barbourville, the location of various businesses in downtown Barbourville, what it was like to live in Barbourville, Kentucky during the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s,and Miss Maggard's own working career that spanned many years and businesses and organizations.

mildred-maggard-middle-ageHer working career included working at the following: Cole's Variety Store, A&P, Jack's Restaurant, Union National Bank, Union College, the University of Virginia, Richland Coal Company, Union College again, and the Methodist Church in Barbourville.

Miss Maggard graduated from Barbourville High School in 1936. She died on April 10, 2006 and is buried in the Barbourville Cemetery.
