On April 23, 2014, museum member David Cole presented us with a photo booklet made in 1954 to commemorate the opening of two Pan Am service stations in Knox County.

Mr. Cole said the booklet was recently given to him by Shirley "Buck" Treadway, whose father was contractor on the project. This donation is featured in our news article section and photo gallery section.

The year 2013 brought us several significant donations, including, but by no means limited to, the following:

  • A 1850-era muzzle-loader rifle of the type used locally in the Civil War donated by Marcia Speer
  • A price labeling machine formerly used in Sowders' Clothing Store, Court Square, Barbourville, Kentucky, donated by Kenneth Bayes on behalf of James Foley
  • Tombstone of Isaac Jones (1774-1854) (veteran of War of 1812 and one of the first settlers on Goose Creek in the late 1700s with wife Rhoda Smith Jones, donated by Tom Kenney
  • History of East Barbourville Baptist Church with pictures, donated by Jo Allen Broughton
  • DAR - First scapbook from the Dr. Thomas Walker Chapter by Hattie Decker Edwards, donated by Mary Alice Lay
