On Sept. 21, 2016, Jakalyn Jackson of Cannon, Kentucky donated a large collection of  genealogical documents and records to the Knox Historical Museum. The donation was made in memory of the late Sonya Burnette, who died on February 27, 2015.

"She wanted me to have the materials," Ms. Jackson noted. She and Mrs. Burnette were longtime members of the former Knox County Historical Society. Ms. Jackson is currently active in the Knox Historical Museum.
