One of the more important and useful publications housed at the Knox Historical Museum and Genealogy Center in Barbourville, Kentucky is a listing of cemeteries and burials in Knox County, Kentucky.

These valuable documents were divided into five volumes and were copyrighted by the now defunct Knox County Genealogical Society, Inc. based in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2006 the documents were gifted to the Knox Historical Museum.

The cemetery and burial documents were divided into five volumes with the following publication dates: 1980 for Volume 1, 1981 for Volumes 2, 3 and 4, and 1984 for Volume 5. Altogether there are 153 cemeteries listed and an uncounted number of burials listed in the five volumes.

Key personnel involved in creating these volumes were as follows: Maxine (Humfleet) Jones, Edna Gibson, Marie Scarlott, Patsy Ann (Hammons) Koerner, Elizabeth H. Masterson, Virginia M. Hammons, Virginia J. Logan and Stanley L. Logan.
